An Audit Finds It Once. A System Stops It Coming Back
A remediation pass fixes the pages that were tested, on the day they were tested. Six months of publishing later the same failures are back, because what produced them — a component, a content model, an editorial habit — was never touched.
Pare treats accessibility as a property of the system. Patterns that are accessible by construction, checks that run in the pipeline on every change, and authors who know what a heading level or an unlabeled link costs someone using a screen reader. Accessibility is the first thing to slip when a release is under pressure, because it is a check a person has to remember to make. Pare puts it in the pipeline and in the component library, where remembering is not required.
The same principle governs the documentation. A VPAT written once to win a bid describes a platform that existed that quarter. Tied to the tests that run on every change, it describes the platform someone is using today, which is the only version that matters when a complaint arrives.
How Accessibility and Compliance Advance Key Business Outcomes
This work sits closest to Trust. An experience someone cannot use is an experience that tells them the organization did not have them in mind, and for a health system, a benefits agency or a legal aid provider that is a message with consequences.
