Today is a big day in the history of this company. We’re changing our name. Oomph and Adapt USA are becoming Pare & Co - Pare for short.
If you already work with either firm, nothing about that work changes. Same team, same people on your account, same contracts, invoices, rates, and phone numbers. Our old email addresses keep working. No project moves, pauses, or gets rescoped.
I founded Oomph in 2007, so let me start there. Oomph was the right name then. We were a handful of people with more energy than process, building sites for organizations that deserved better than what they had. The name promised exactly what we sold, which was a jolt of it.
The work outgrew it. Somewhere in the last decade, clients stopped asking us to build them a website and started asking harder questions. What happens to this platform when the accessibility rules change. Whether this AI pilot is worth defending to a board. Which of these forty priorities actually matters.
That turned out to be the work we’re best at. We still build, and we build well. The part clients tell us they value most is the sorting that comes first, when the room is loud and no one agrees on what the real problem is. Complexity doesn’t rattle us. That is a strange thing to be proud of, and it is the truest thing I can say about this team.
So the name had to catch up. Pare is the clarity of knowing something well enough to truly see what it’s made of.
You can’t move what matters until you can see through to the core. That is what we have spent two decades getting good at, and it is the critical path to every outcome a client hires us for.
Oomph acquired Adapt USA, and their team is part of the firm now. If you came to us through Adapt, the people you have been working with are still your people, and the range of what we can take on for you is wider than it was. Bringing the two teams together is the other half of why a new name made sense: neither of the old ones covered what we now do.
We’ve organized the work around four outcomes - Trust, Engagement, Growth, and Intelligence - across the sectors where the subject matter is hard and the stakes are real: healthcare and life sciences, education, public and social impact, financial services, associations, travel and culture, and enterprise technology. Intelligence is the newest of the four, built around agents and AI-native operations.
I wanted a name that would still be right in twenty years. Oomph got us through nineteen and earned every one of them. Pare is the one I want on the door for what comes next.
Questions, reactions, or a strong preference for the old name - I want to hear all of it. My address below reaches me directly.
Cheers,
