Pantheon is the WebOps platform: Drupal, WordPress and Next.js sites run under one roof, with the multi-environment workflows and automated updates that let a small team ship continuously. Its current direction is AI-era architecture — managed Next.js went GA in April 2026, built on the argument that structured, API-first content served at the edge is what AI agents and AI search engines can actually consume, with Model Context Protocol support in the foundation. We build on it when continuous shipping is the engagement’s defining constraint.

Our Pantheon work spans higher education, cultural institutions and mission-driven organizations: Foundation Medicine’s content platform, Columbia Health’s Go Ask Alice! and Earthwatch’s expedition booking platform all run on it.
The platform’s job is to keep a small team shipping. Multi-environment workflows mean every change rehearses before it lands, automated updates keep the CMS current without a maintenance project, and managed Next.js runs a modern frontend beside the CMS instead of on a second vendor. Since April 2026 that includes Pantheon’s AI-era architecture: structured, API-first content served fast at the edge, readable by AI agents and answer engines as well as people.
The judgment is fit. When the defining constraint is continuous shipping, Pantheon is where we build; when it is federation-scale governance across a fleet of dozens, we match the engagement to Acquia.
