Graphic Design USA has recognized two of our projects in its 2024 American Digital Design Awards.

Mass Legal Help is where people in Massachusetts go when something has gone wrong and a lawyer is not an option — eviction, debt, abuse, immigration status. Its users arrive under stress, often on a borrowed phone, sometimes on a device someone else can see.

That last condition shaped the build more than any other. The case study covers the safety work, including the quick-exit behavior the site needed before anything else about it mattered.

The Lab Manual

The Lab Manual is a published guide for building a government policy lab, made with The Policy Lab at Brown University. Its job is to be copied: the whole point of documenting the method is that another state can run it without starting over.

About the Award

The American Digital Design Awards are run annually by Graphic Design USA, which has covered the design profession since 1963. The competition recognizes digital work across websites, apps and interactive design.
