Outfront Media takes a dotCOMM Platinum

Platinum for Business to Business Website, announced alongside the platform’s Davey Silver — for a site selling billboards to buyers who have never bought one.

December 11, 2019

Outfront Media’s platform has won Platinum in the 2019 dotCOMM Awards for Business to Business Website. Outfront credits the design to its own team working with Oomph (now Pare & Co) and CapGemini.

The same platform took a Silver Davey Award in Professional Services, and the client announced both in one release.

The Problem It Solves

Out-of-home advertising has an onboarding problem its incumbents had largely stopped noticing. Billboards are bought by media buyers who know the vocabulary — impressions, circulation, panel types, illuminated versus not — and the whole purchasing experience assumed that knowledge.

Which is fine until the buyer is a regional business owner who has decided a billboard might be a good idea and has no idea what any of that means or how it is priced. The case study covers how the inventory and pricing were made legible to someone encountering the medium for the first time.

About the Award

The dotCOMM Awards are an international competition for digital work, administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. Platinum is the top tier, above Gold and Honorable Mention.
