The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation has won a Bronze Digital Health Award for Web-based Digital Health Website, in the Educational Institution division.
What the Platform Delivers
IHME, based at the University of Washington, produces the Global Burden of Disease study — the measurement of what people die from and live with, country by country, that ministries of health and funding bodies use to decide where money goes.
The platform’s difficulty is that its audience runs from a health minister to a journalist on deadline to a graduate researcher who wants the underlying dataset, and the same finding has to be legible to all three without being wrong for any of them. The case study covers how the content model handles that range.

The Digital Health Awards are run twice yearly by the Health Information Resource Center, recognizing health information delivered digitally, judged on content quality, design and usefulness.
