The Drupal Association has named Oomph a Gold-level Drupal Certified Partner, raising us from the Silver tier we held through 2024.
What the Tier Measures
The Drupal Certified Partner program grades agencies on what they give back to the project rather than on what they sell. Tiers run Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Top Tier, and each is set by the volume of contribution credits an organization earns in a year — the Association’s unit for work committed back to Drupal core, to contributed modules and to the community that maintains them. Gold requires a thousand of them.
Partners are re-evaluated every year, on each organization’s own renewal date. The tier is a measure of the last twelve months, not a permanent title.
What the Contribution Is
Our credits come from maintained code. Oomph maintains the OpenID Connect and Search and Replace Scanner modules, sponsors New England Drupal Camp, and hosts the Providence Drupal Meetup.
The largest single piece of current work is the Contact Form track within Drupal CMS, the initiative to lower the barrier to entry for people adopting Drupal for the first time.
Why It Matters to Clients
Knowing a platform and participating in it are different things, and the difference shows up in the recommendations an agency can stand behind. Which contributed modules will still be maintained in five years, which upgrade paths are real, when to extend core and when to work around it — those calls come from knowing how the project works and who maintains it.
