Oomph (now Pare & Co) is leading the Contact Form track within Drupal CMS, the initiative to make Drupal approachable for people adopting it for the first time. J. Hogue, our director of design and user experience, is track lead.

Why a Contact Form Is the Right Place to Start

It sounds like a small thing to own. It is not.

A contact form is the first piece of functionality almost every new site needs, and in Drupal it has historically been one of the first places a new user discovers that they are expected to assemble something rather than switch it on. That gap — between what a newcomer expects to be built in and what they find — is precisely what Drupal CMS exists to close.

The track’s first phase covers contact form modules with email notification. Later phases add database storage of submissions, CRM and newsletter integrations, conditional defaults and an editing experience that fits the platform’s new admin tooling.

About Drupal CMS

Drupal CMS, developed under the codename Starshot, was announced by Drupal founder Dries Buytaert in 2024 and demonstrated at DrupalCon Barcelona in September of that year. Its goal is to drastically lower the barrier to entry for new Drupal users, without giving up what makes the platform worth choosing at scale.
