Automattic opened the WordPress.com VIP Featured Partner Program to nine interactive agencies, and Oomph, Inc. (now Pare & Co) was one of them — in company with 10up, Alley Interactive and Human Made.
VIP was where enterprise WordPress happened at the time: the hosting and support tier for publishers running at scale, with a partner list that functioned as the platform’s own answer to who could be trusted with that work.
