Providence Equity’s platform has won two Silver W3 Awards: one in Financial Services, one for Website Redesign.
What the Work Involved
A global private equity firm’s website answers to several audiences that rarely appear on the same page — institutional investors, the management teams of portfolio companies, prospective hires and the journalists who write about all three.
The redesign’s central problem was the portfolio itself. It is the firm’s strongest evidence and its most awkward content: dozens of companies across sectors and geographies, changing constantly as positions are entered and exited, each with its own story that matters to a different reader. Presented as a flat directory it says nothing; presented as narrative it goes stale within a quarter.
The structure had to make the portfolio work as living evidence, updatable by the firm without a developer, and legible whether a visitor arrived looking for a sector thesis or for one specific company.
About the Award
